Four Generations Experience
Owned and operated locally. David Harkey, Sr., helped build St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island in the 1920s, and opened Harkey Real Estate on 5th Street in downtown St. Petersburg in 1938. Many of the bungalows he built are still standing today.

Independent Brokerage
Bea Harkey opened the office of Bea Harkey Real Estate in 1982, at the height of national real estate franchise expansion. Her independent real estate practice kept money in the community at a savings to her clients. The brokerage changed its name to WHY Realty in 1997 under David Harkey III.
